Introduction to contact rugby. Players learn safe falling, basic tackling technique, and the breakdown.
U12 is a pivotal age group: the transition from tag to contact rugby. Safety is the absolute priority. The FFR's 'Bien Joué' programme emphasises that contact is introduced progressively, with a strong focus on correct technique before any competitive pressure is applied.
Contact rugby (modified rules). 7v7 or 8v8. Scrums are uncontested. Lineouts are simplified.
